Shia LaBeouf Drops Out of Broadway Play

Shia LaBeouf will no longer be making his Broadway debut in Orphans. The play’s producers announced that the actor has exited the cast “due to creative differences”.

LaBeouf was set to play Treat, an orphan living in a North Philadelphia row house his younger brother Phillip, played by Tom Sturridge. Alec Baldwin also stars as the rich older man, Harold, who has his motives for becoming the boys’ father figure.   

A replacement is expected to be announced soon.

Previews begin March 19 at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre, with an official opening scheduled for April 7.
